This super simple recipe can be customized anyway you want! Add walnuts, raisins, chia seeds or even chocolate. It’s naturally gluten free and a great source of fibre, healthy fats and protein.

Warm Apple Pie Oatmeal

Ingredients

  • 1 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1 tsp true cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp ground ginger
  • 1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
  • 1 large apple, diced
  • 1 tbsp smooth nut butter
  • 1/2 tbsp coconut oil
  • 1/2 tbsp honey or maple syrup

Instructions

  • In a medium saucepan, melt the coconut oil over medium heat. Add the diced apple, honey, hemp seeds, cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. Cook for 2-3 minutes, until apples softened and coated.
  • Pour in water and coconut milk and bring to a low boil.
  • Add oats and cook for 3-5 minutes until liquid is absorbed.
  • Pour into 2 bowls and top with nut butter and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
