What do you do when you have more pears than you can eat?

Pear Oatmeal Bake.

It’s great for breakfast, snack or dessert!

With the added benefit of Hemp Seeds, this gluten & dairy free dish is full of plant based protein, healthy fats and fibre.

I love Hemp Seeds, this super seed packs a nutritional punch! 3 tbsp has 10g Omega’s, 10g Protein and only 3g of Carbs. Great in baking, but also the perfect boost for your smoothies, soups and salads. My favourite, go-to brand is Manitoba Harvest.

Pear Oatmeal Bake

Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups old-fashioned rolled oats
  • 1 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp hemp seeds
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 cup diced pears (1-2 pears)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 3/4 cup coconut or almond milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/3 cup maple syrup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350F.
  • Combine dry ingredients (oats, baking powder, cinnamon, pecans & hemp seeds).
  • In a separate bowl combine wet ingredients (egg, milk, vanilla & maple syrup). Add to dry ingredients.
  • Mix well and fold in pears.
  • Grease a baking pan with coconut oil and pour in mixture.
  • Bake for 30 minutes or until toothpick comes out clear.
  • Allow to cool and serve. You can serve alone, or top with greek yogurt, coconut milk whip etc.
