One Green Smoothie a day, helps heal your digestion, speed up your metabolism, strengthen your immune system and provide a healthy dose of veggies, fruits, protein and fat.
The basic ingredients that I always have in my kitchen are frozen organic mango, organic banana, box of organic greens (spinach or kale), hemp seeds, chia seeds, protein powder and coconut milk. You don’t need to add all of these to your shake, but adding some extra protein, omega’s, antioxidants and fibre never hurt anyone.
Organic Mango is always in my freezer because 1 cup has 76% of our daily Vitamin C, 25% Vitamin A, 11% B Vitamins, potassium, probiotic fibre, potassium and magnesium. The enzymes in mango also help break down protein and ease digestion and elimination.
For this smoothie, you will need:
- 2 cups fresh organic spinach or kale
- 1 cup frozen organic mango
- 1 organic banana (can be fresh or frozen)
- 1.5 cups filtered water
- 0.5 cup coconut milk
- optional: 1 tbsp hemp seeds, 1 tbsp chia seeds, 1 scoop Vega Protein Powder or whatever kind you prefer (vanilla flavour will be important for this smoothie), 1 tbsp Brain Octane Oil or MCT Oil
Blend all ingredients until smooth. You can omit the coconut milk and just use 2 cups of filtered water also, it still tastes great.
